DRIVER BIO 2011

Bryan Silas’ 2011 Racing Recap

Stuart, Florida native Bryan Silas was one busy racecar driver in 2011. After running a successful campaign in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards the year before where he roared to a sixth place finish in the coveted championship standings, the Floridian decided to partake in a variety of different series.

Between the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, the CARS Pro Cup Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), he competed in 19 races overall.

In the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, Silas maintained a presence driving for Fast Track Racing but also competed in three events driving for Eddie Sharp Racing. His best outing for Andy Hillenburg at Fast Track Racing occurred at Salem (Ind.) Speedway where he notched yet another top-five finish to his ARCA career by finishing fourth after starting 14th. He also finished sixth after leading six laps at Michigan International Speedway driving the No. 6 Weaver Media Toyota Camry for Eddie Sharp Racing.

In the CARS Pro Cup Series, formerly known as the USARacing Pro Cup Series, 2011 was a year that the young-gun will not forget. In six races, Silas mounted his first career stock-car win at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway in the fall after starting on the outside pole. In addition to his win, he also racked up three top-fives and five top-10 finishes in those six starts.

Preparing himself for a more existing presence in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the 24-year old competed in six races. In those six contests, he amassed a best finish of 19th driving for Chase Mattoili Racing at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway after starting 35th. In addition to Charlotte, the racecar driver also raced at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, Chicagoland Speedway, Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway, Kansas Speedway and Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.

For 2012, Silas will turn his full attention towards a competitive effort in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in hopes of a full-time effort behind the wheel of the No. 99 Rockingham Speedway Ford F-150 driving for family-owned T3R.

Silas' interests away from the track are spending time with his family, reading the bible and attending church. He loves music and has played the drums for 10 years. He is now introducing his son to the drums. The Silas family is also expecting another son in June 2012.
