Bryan Silas' 2013 Racing Recap

Stuart, Florida native Bryan Silas entered the 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season optimistic following the improvement of his family-owned team, T3R2 the previous year.

With new and veteran crew chief Gary Cogswell aboard, the team headed to the season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway ready to shine. After qualifying mid-pack, Silas cleverly drafted his No. 99 Ford F-150 to the front, but found himself at the wrong place at the wrong time, becoming a victim of the "Big One."

Unfortunately, misfortune proved to be the model word for the organization during the first half of the year, the team however, refused to give up, which paid off with solid finishes at Michigan International Speedway, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park and Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway respectively.

The inaugural road course event at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park also produced the best ever finish for Silas in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, where he took the checkered flag in a very competitive 11th.

In addition to competing in 19 truck races last year, he also competed in six NASCAR Nationwide Series races with SR2 Motorsports and Go Green Racing. The Floridian gained attention with his consistency and perseverance with Go Green Racing, producing three top-25 finishes, including a respectable 22nd place run in the season-finale at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway, a hometown venue for the 26-year old.

For 2014, a new year meant a fresh start for Silas. In February, he competed in both the ARCA Racing Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season openers respectively at the 2.5-mile track of Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. His efforts in both series were commendable after running competitively inside the top-10 in both races, before settling for a 12th and 17th place finish overall, giving the fan-favorite driver a boost of confidence for the remainder of the year.

In addition to his NCWTS slate, the former CARS X-1R Pro Cup Series race winner will also compete in a limited NNS schedule this season.

Bryan is married. He and his wife Misty have two sons, Landon (born 2010) and Braydon (born 2012). Silas' main interests away from the track are spending time with his family, reading the bible and attending church. He loves music and has played the drums for 12 years.
